Data Deletion

How to remove iDentiCal Sync's access to your Google account and delete any data we hold. Three steps, plain English, no support ticket required for the first two.

Last updated: 20/05/2026

Overview

iDentiCal Sync runs entirely on your practice computer. It does not store your data on Walker IT Support servers. As a result, deleting data is mostly something you do on your own machine and Google account — not something we do for you.

There are three places data can sit:

  • 1. Your Google account — an OAuth grant that lets iDentiCal Sync create and update events on your calendar.
  • 2. Your practice computer — encrypted local config, OAuth refresh token, sync database, and logs.
  • 3. Walker IT Support records — email correspondence and licence record (no calendar data, no appointment data).

Each is removable independently. The methods are below.

1. Revoke Google's access

This is the fastest way to cut iDentiCal Sync off from your calendar. The OAuth token becomes dead instantly — no further sync is possible until you re-authorise.

  1. Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions while signed in to the Google account you connected.
  2. Find iDentiCal Sync in the list of third-party apps.
  3. Click the app, then Remove access.
Note: Events that iDentiCal Sync already created on your calendar remain on your calendar after revocation. To delete those events, use the "clear managed events" command in the iDentiCal Sync admin tray before revoking, or delete them manually in Google Calendar afterwards.

2. Uninstall iDentiCal Sync

This removes the Windows Service, the tray app, all encrypted configuration, the OAuth refresh token, and all log files from your practice computer.

  1. Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find iDentiCal Sync in the list and click Uninstall.
  3. Follow the uninstaller prompts. The uninstaller removes the local sync database, the DPAPI-sealed token store, and all log files.

Alternatively, if your IT team prefers, run the uninstaller MSI from an elevated command prompt.

What's left after uninstall? Nothing on your computer. Events previously written to Google Calendar remain on the calendar unless you cleared them first (see step 1).

3. Delete Walker IT Support records

The only data we keep on our side is what you send us directly: email correspondence, your name and email address on the licence record, and any tax records we are legally required to retain.

To request deletion of this support-side data:

  1. Email gdpr@identicalsync.com from the address associated with your licence.
  2. Subject line: Data deletion request.
  3. State whether you want (a) all support correspondence deleted, (b) your name and email removed from the licence record, or (c) both.

We will action the request within 30 days and confirm by email. Some records — notably tax invoices — must be retained for up to 6 years under UK record-keeping law; we will let you know if any of your data falls into that category and explain why we cannot delete it sooner.
